Preferred Food
Please donate wholesome, healthy, non-perishable food items that have been recently purchased. Consider name-brand foods and portions useful for households. Good rule of thumb: what would you give your best friend if he/she were in need? It’s all about nutrition! So think about gathering healthy foods rather than snack foods or desserts. Here’s what the pantry needs most:
Protein:
Tuna, peanut butter, canned meals, stews, canned meat, and canned or dry beans are nutritious, filling and popular.
Cereal and Starches:
Cereal, oatmeal, crackers, pancake mix and syrup, pastas and sauce, rice, potato mixes and macaroni and cheese dinners provide complex carbohydrates which are important sources of energy
Vegetables and Soups:
Canned corn, green beans, peas and carrots, and all soup products provide fiber and are naturally low in fat.
PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY ARE MOST NEEDED
